University of Glasgow
Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world. We are one of the top 100 of the world's universities and a member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK institutions, where we are ranked 2nd for teaching, and have been named Scottish University of the Year in 2022. Our world changing alumni include the father of economics Adam Smith, Scotland's architect of devolution Donald Dewar, renowned physicist and engineer Lord Kelvin, Scotland's first minister Nicole Sturgeon, and John Tiffany, and the Director of Harry Potter and Cursed Child. Located in Scotland's largest city (and the UK's fourth largest city), Glasgow is a UNESCO World Heritage city for Music, and ranked as one of the world's most friendly and affordable cities. We offer 600 undergraduate and 300 postgraduate taught programmes, host students from 140 nations, and have over 300 clubs and societies. As host of COP26 in 2022, our university goal is to be carbon neutral by 2030. World changers are welcome here!
