Salve Regina is a Catholic, coeducational university located in historic Newport, Rhode Island on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The university was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and welcomed its first class in 1947. Salve has an enrollment of 2,700 students studying in 46 undergraduate, 14 master's and 3 doctoral programs.
